Dreamcatcher Workshop

Make a beautiful dreamcatcher using soft deer hide and hear some traditional teachings about the dreamcatcher from Kristin Murray, from the Misiway Community Centre.

Transport yourself to James Bay, where you will build your own model Askihkan, while listening to Lucie Iserhoff tell stories of how it was and still is used.


My Story, My Tattoo

Explore the exhibit “My Story, My Tattoo” and find out how tattoos tell stories. Design your own tattoo and paint it on canvas, and get a temporary airbrush tattoo of your choice!

Discover how paleontologists and archaeologists use clues they find in the dirt to learn about life a long time ago. Play games to test your skills as an explorer and then take part in a mini excavation and take home what you find.

Do you love music? Ever wanted to see a bassoon? Join members of the Timmins Symphony Orchestra in singing and playing music and experience the “instrument petting zoo” to try out some of the instruments that make up an orchestra.


Storytelling with the Silverleaf Writers Guild

Junior storytellers will hear kid-friendly stories written by local authors, discover different forms of writing, and write their own short story or poem. All participants will receive a copy of “Thinking Toque for Kids / pour enfants” by the Silverleaf Writers Guild.
